The practical reading is simple. The market exit and withdrawal from the mobile market in the West ends new hardware, not the commitments already made to current owners. Update Policy: OS Upgrades and Security Patches by Series
The update policy depends on the series. Flagship phones from the OnePlus 11 onward, including the T and R models, receive four major Android updates and five years of security updates. The OnePlus 13 and 13R raised that to six years of security updates. The Nord series gets three OS upgrades and four years of security, Nord CE gets two and three, and the Nord N gets one and three.
Security updates for tablets, audio and wearables
In the U.K., the product security rules require security updates for at least three years for smartphones and tablets, one year for audio and two years for wearables after launch.
